Limassol – Top Things To Do in Limassol
A city popular for its coastline and modernity brought in by foreign investment, Limassol is a hub for exciting activities and interesting locations. Here is a compiled list of what I believe are some of the best spots to visit.
Limassol Promenade

The popular walking trail amongst locals and tourists. A stretch of land next to the sea with views of incoming travelers in cruise ships, palm trees surrounding you and at perfect reach of the best sandy beaches Limassol has to offer. Not only can you enjoy your daily walk here, you have your abundant selection of restaurants, cafes, bars, and nightclubs for whatever strikes your fancy. You can walk on this stretch of land all the way to the next location on the list.
Limassol Marina

A fairly new development with the purpose of it being both residential and commercial, here yacht and boat owners can park their boats for the time they are here in Cyprus. The marina was built with the intent to blend in with the existing old port, the old town and the castle. Its a hub that attracts both the locals and the tourists, with their international high class restaurants. Here you can enjoy a nice day out, eating delicious food with the stunning view of the sea and luxurious yachts.
Limassol Old Port
The old harbour transformed into a fishing harbour, where the fishermen leave every night to return in the early hours of the morning with their catches of the day. The new fishing harbour has transformed into a touristic hub where you can enjoy the view of the fishing boats and stay at one of the restaurants or cafes that they have. Keep your eyes peeled to any events and festivals that might be taking place in the centre of the harbour.
Limassol Castle

While you are at the old harbour take advantage and go visit the Limassol castle. It is located at the heart of the old town of Limassol and above the old harbour. According to stories, this is where Richard the Lionheart married and crowned Berengaria of Navarre as the Queen of England in 1911.
Saripolou Square & Old Market
This is the busiest part of the city marking it the perfect location for restaurants, cafes, bars, and pubs, here you can enjoy whatever strikes your fancy. The four edges of the square will lead you to other four interesting locations, the castle, the university, the municipal market and to the old catholic church.
Limassol Wine Villages
No other district in Cyprus compares to Limassol district and their wine growing villages and their wineries. The dry climate and unique geology make it the perfect place to grow the Cyprus native grapes, Xynisteri and Mavro. Wine lovers have the option of taking wine tours around the villages and enjoy wine tasting while passing through the beautiful nature scenery.
Fassouri Watermania Waterpark
While in Limassol don’t miss out on going to the multiple award winning water park. Here you can enjoy a full day trip enjoying the rides they offer, it makes it the perfect place to be at during the intense heat waves of a Cypriot summer.
